Sunday 01st March 2026!
EAST WEST BLUES FEST!
DRYGATE BREWERY - GLASGOW

AFTER 10:30am TICKETS ONLY N THE DOOR

THE JENSEN INTERCEPTORS

Electric blues with a fine 6 piece from the Borders, several of which you'll know from the "B'N'T" jam at the end of last year’s festival. Appropriately, the band are fronted by "Scotland’s Butterfield", (Butterfield Blues Band's classic album: "East West"), Gary Martin: who is the absolute business with a harmonica. Snake Hips O'Donnell an aficionado of the '50s boogie piano and slide guitar. For this show, John Bruce (B'N'T) will be back on guitar!

THE DEKE MCGEE BAND

Glasgow band fronted by Sax Maestro McGee. Deke has performed all over the world at Jazz and Blues Festivals from Montreal to Paris. He's recorded, supported and shared stages with the likes of Buddy Guy, Joe Walsh, Lazy Lester, Otis Grand, The Sensational Alex Harvey Band and lost Glasgow legend, Big George. You will recognise the exceptional Duncan Kennedy on guitar, of 'Al Brown & The Bluelighters'

THE JAMES OLIVER BAND

Our rockabilly and roll import from Wales! Due to multiple requests to put James back on the Drygate stage, and the fact that every festival needs a wild wizard, JOB are joining 2026. Walter Trout has been singing the praises of this “committed student of the guitar, who can play many styles to the level most of us dream of”. Drummers have also united in the demand for Mark Kemlo, and I couldn’t agree more.

NICOLE SMIT & JED POTTS

Smit & Potts bring warm and wonderful Country Blues, from Edinburgh. Nicole, quoted regularly as Edinburgh's Queen of The Blues, has the most exquisite voice. Potts is a very tasty electric player of rhythm, riffs and lead. In this duo, you're treated to gorgeous harmony and vocal trade offs. Such naturals and 'stage mates', It can feel like you're witnessing a 70 year friendship with access to a time machine.

 SPECIAL GUEST
STEVE RAY LADSON

We will have a good selection of 2nd hand records and CDs to rummage through!

Plan!

5pm: Steve Ray Ladson
5:50pm: Deke McGee Band
7pm: The Jensen Interceptors

The bands and musicians planned for 2026, we know from personal witness, are truly world class. Because we hope to do this once a year, we have not booked the same acts as 2025, however, without dropping too many hints, a few of the musicians that were involved are coming back in other wonderful formations.

Feedback from 2025 was really helpful, you liked the music and you liked the format! Many people complimented the early Sunday schedule, allowing time to travel home and get kip for Monday workers/school running parents, so we will be following a similar time frame, assume loosely between 2:30pm and 8pm, with a slight shift either way when we finalise the running order.

We have added just £1 to the tickets, as we expect to have slightly higher costs this year. The ethos is not to have a 'mega' headliner taking 50% of the budget, but to have multiple sublime acts in no order of status, to offer variety and a huge finale with colaborations. As per last year, the profits are split between all performers, with your "middle man" doing it for the love of good music!

Again, we are not adding a booking fee
, which we are able to asbsorb because Ticket Tailor remain brilliant value.

Early Bird tickets have now sold out for 2026, but the event is still great value at £26.50 ~ Doors will be £32 on the day, if space is available, we were very close to maximum capacity in 2025.

Blue Bounty Events is just me (Liz). This is my way of giving something back to Scottish live music, which has welcomed and homed me for 14 years. 'Liz Jones & Broken Windows' (Your 2025 hosts!) are not playing this time. As much as I'd love to, I'm not doing this just to get my lovely band a gig. Though we will be there partying in the crowd with you!.

East West is for lovers of:
Roots music
Blues music
Relaxed venues
Everyone welcome atmosphere!

T-shirts will be available at the event!  All profits go towards securing the venue for next year!
